My camera was not recognized, what can I do?

1. Initial situation

Your video conference app, Festnetz+ (pascom) app, cannot access the computer's camera. The following error message appears.

The camera cannot be accessed for a number of reasons. We have put together common variants for problem solving here.


2. Adjust privacy settings

It is possible that the Windows data protection settings prevent access to the camera. Proceed as follows to correct this (here using the example of the Festnetz+ app):

  • Make sure the camera is not physically covered (using the physical slider on some devices).
  • Quit Pascom Client via System Tray> right click on Pascom Icon> Quit
  • Start> Settings> Privacy> Camera:
    • Make sure a
    • If already on: off, wait 3s, on

  • Start the Pascom Client
  • Settings> Video
  • Wait a few seconds and the integrated webcam will appear after a few seconds

3rd variant: reset to the standard settings recommended by Microsoft.

Proceed as follows to restore the default settings.

  • Start> Settings (gear)
  • Apps
  • Standard apps
  • Reset to default
