1. Initial situation

To optimize your indoor coverage (indoor coverage) with 3G and 4G, you can order a mobile indoor box from Seabix. You have now received this and it is ready for commissioning. This article describes the commissioning

2. Procedure

Operating license restricted to the location address

A location must be specified when ordering. The Mobile Indoor Box may only be used at this location.

The placement of the Mobile Indoor Box is crucial for the quality of the result. Try to adhere to the following general conditions for the installation site:

  • Central location
  • Above head height
  • Away from windows
  • Below ceiling covers (e.g. metal rails, ceiling panels, etc.)
  • At least 1m away from WiFi devices
  • No outside area, only inside rooms with a temperature between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius

Use PoE +

For failure protection, it is best to use Power over Ethernet to supply your Mobile Indoor Box with power. All Seabix network switch installations offer PoE +. In this case, no additional power pack has to be connected.

Please note that no corresponding configurations need to be made on the box, the box only needs to be placed and mounted.

  • After placing it in the ideal location, assemble the indoor box as shown with the enclosed screw set.

  • The final assembly looks something like this.
  • In the network, connect the WAN port to your network. If this is a Seabix network, we recommend consulting Seabix to establish your own VLAN for security reasons.
  • After commissioning, interpret the LED displays as described here.
